CONCORD — A California Highway Patrol officer was hospitalized after a vehicle struck her during a weekend enforcement stop on a busy highway, authorities said.In a statement posted Sunday to social media, the CHP said the officer had stopped a Chevrolet on the right shoulder of southbound Highway 242 lanes just south of Highway 4, and was standing near the Chevrolet at 8:22 p.m. Saturday.Moments later, a Mercedes traveling southbound veered off the road and into the Chevrolet, causing it to hit the officer. Shares were mostly higher in Asia on Monday after a report Friday showed resilience in the U.S. jobs market. Benchmarks rose in Tokyo and Seoul but fell in Shanghai.
