ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The United States Attorney's Office reports the sentencing of Yuny Hurtado Rodriguez, 34 of Florida. Rodriguez was sentenced to 57 months in prison on March 29 for his role in building skimming devices designed to steal gas station customer information. The U.S. Attorney's Office reports Rodriguez admitted that between April 2016 and July 2019, he conspired with others to commit access device fraud conspiracy by building skimming devices designed to steal gas station customer information. Rodriguez and others installed those devices inside gas pumps in Albany, Broome, Montgomery counties, and elsewhere. They would then use the collected information to create fraudulent credit and debit cards. COPAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Copake man was arrested after calling 911 and reporting he shot at a car of someone he believed was trespassing, according to deputies. On Tuesday, around 5:26 p.m., Columbia County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Connolly Road in Copake for a reported trespassing complaint. According to deputies, the person who reported the incident to 911 said he fired two rounds from a gun at the car of a person he believed to be trespassing. Deputies say one round struck and damaged a tire of the car. No injuries were reported, and the person in the car left the area. ST. LOUIS - A new electric train is rolling down the tracks at the Saint Louis Zoo. The train is named after Mary Meachum, a St. Louis abolitionist who was instrumental in educating Black people. Meachum also played a critical role helping free slaves in the Underground Railroad.“March is Women’s History Month, and we couldn’t imagine a more fitting time to announce Mary Meachum as the name of the newest train,” said Michael Macek, Director of the Saint Louis Zoo. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Senate gives first-round approval to a bill that would ban texting while driving.Missouri is one of only two US states without a law that prohibits people over 21 from texting while driving. Right now, it is only considered illegal for drivers 21 and under to text and drive. Democrat and Republican lawmakers both introduced legislation this year to combat distracted driving. The bill making the most rounds lately is SB 56, sponsored by State Sen.
