A good Samaritan is being hailed a hero after he rushed to a family’s rescue when a house erupted in flames in Miami Gardens.Speaking to 7News on Wednesday, Lorenzo Jones Jr. said he saw the flames coming from the home on Tuesday night and began banging on the doors, telling everyone to get out. “I was just banging on the doors, I was banging on the neighbors’ doors, I was banging on the window and the door,” he said. Years after dozens of cats were found in filth, a former South Florida animal rescue volunteer who was charged with animal cruelty is set to learn her fate.Michelin Toulouse was charged with 13 counts of animal cruelty after more than 50 cats were found inside her townhome in Sunrise, with urine and feces everywhere, in May of 2021.Wednesday was sentencing day for the once trusted animal rescuer. The driver who crashed into an Apple store in Hingham in November of last year, killing one person and injuring 19 others, has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation after reappearing in court over an alleged violation of bail conditions.Bradley Rein, 53, of Hingham, was originally arrested and charged after his 2019 Toyota 4Runner ended up inside the Derby Street Shops store. Rein’s attorney described the crash as a horrific accident, with Rein telling investigators that his foot became stuck on the accelerator while he was looking for an eyeglass store.He was released in December 2022 on $100,000 bail with a stipulation that he not drive, that he would wear a GPS tracking device, could not leave the state without approval, and could not own weapons. The man police say killed one person and injured nearly two dozen more when he barreled his SUV into an Apple store in Hingham last year went missing ahead of Christmas but has since been arrested again.State probation workers monitoring the GPS bracelet tracking defendant Bradley Rein on Friday night received an alert that the device had lost power.
