WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) - House republicans are rallying behind an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden but the president and his son are pushing back against the allegations. The impeachment inquiry is now officially authorized because of a House vote where the entire republican conference supported it.Ohio Republican Jim Jordan of Ohio said, "The House has now spoken."In a key moment for the controversial impeachment investigation all House republicans voted to formalize the inquiry into President Biden while all democrats opposed it.This stupid, blundering investigation is keeping us from getting any real work done for the people of America," said Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md).Republicans insist they have found evidence of corruption from the Biden family, and they say formalizing the inquiry gives them more authority to investigate further."We think it will help us get those key individuals in to speak to us in a more timely fashion and get us the documents that Mr. Comer has bee...Dean's A-List Interviews: Timothée Chalamet in 'Wonka'

LEANDER, Texas (Austin Business Journal) -- One of the most alluring projects planned in the region remains in question as deadlines to develop it are fast approaching and little progress has been seen.In October 2020, Leander officials announced a public-private partnership to build the billion-dollar Leander Springs project that would be anchored by a 4-acre lagoon, up to 1,600 multifamily units, a hotel and more than 1 million square feet of commercial space. Developers have secured incentives and final zoning approval for the project about a 35-minute drive from downtown Austin, but the 78-acre plot of land remains undeveloped. Now, the clock is ticking for Leander Springs LLC, which is controlled by Austin-based iLand Development Group, to bring the lagoon to life, based on contractual obligations.Read the full story at Austin Business Journal.Weekend Watch: Trail of Lights, Marble Falls Walkway of Lights & more

COLUMBIA, Mo. - TIME Magazine touts the University of Missouri in Columbia as one of the "best colleges for future leaders" in an inaugural list. Mizzou is ranked as the 34th-best college "for future leaders" in the list. The university finished 13th among public institutions and was one of two universities recognized from the state of Missouri. Only 100 colleges were recognized with TIME Magazine's new honor. By Melissa Clark, The New York TimesAs savory and alluring as a pot of stew can be, it’s rarely charismatic enough to hold its own as the centerpiece of a blowout holiday feast. There’s no amount of chopped parsley on top that can adequately dress up that long-simmered brown underneath; a stew, by nature, is always more cozy and homey than fancy and showstopping. But pour that same stew into a pastry crust and bake until its buttery surface turns golden and glistening, and you’ve got a spectacular main course that’s ready for a star turn. You can do this to pretty much any thick stew and get excellent results. This time, I went meatless, riffing on a chickpea-filled vegetable tagine rich with sweet spices and minced preserved lemon.Since the best stews can be quite involved — all those vegetables to chop and sear, plus a long, slow bubbling on the stove — I’ve kept the pastry simple and used a prepared phyllo rather than homemade dough. Then I streamline things some more. A congressman from Santa Clarita has been accused of selling tens of thousands of dollars worth of stock before his committee released a report that drove that stock price down, then failing to report the transaction. In 2020, U.S. Rep. Mike Garcia sold up to $50,000 in Boeing stock just weeks before the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure "released the damning results of its investigation into deadly crashes involving the company’s 737 Max airliner," as reported by the Daily Beast. That transaction was not disclosed until Nov. 23, 2020, "more than two months after the 45-day reporting window had closed," according to the Daily Beast. That timing is important, Garcia should have reported the stock sale before the 2020 election. Instead, he waited until after votes were cast in an election he won by only 333 votes.“There’s a chance he’s in Congress today because he hid this,” said Jordan Libowitz, communications director for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Wa...90-year-old woman with dementia vanishes in San Bernardino
