Texas school district making Narcan more available on campuses AUSTIN (KXAN) — The latest push for school safety isn't just targeting guns, it is also focusing on dangerous drugs like fentanyl.Round Rock ISD is taking a proactive approach to the nationwide opioid epidemic.The district has teamed up with The Williamson County EMS Community Health Paramedic program and Public Education program to make Narcan more available to staff, students or visitors on campus."I think being proactive can be a good thing," said Keryn Hawthorne who has two kids in Round Rock ISD. 3 suspects charged with murder, robbery in shooting death of man in Culver City Three suspects facing murder and robbery charges have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man last month in Culver City, authorities announced Wednesday.  The unidentified victim was found on March 30, at about 10:45 p.m., inside a vehicle in the 5900 block of West Washington Boulevard, according to the Culver City Police Department. Valero agrees to pay $1.2 million to EPA over violations at Benicia refinery The Valero refinery in Benicia will pay the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency $1.2 million for violating the Clean Air Act, the EPA announced Wednesday.After what the EPA called “significant chemical incidents” at the refinery in 2017 and 2019, a 2019 inspection found that Valero had failed to report the release of hazardous substances, among other noncompliance issues.“This settlement sends a clear message that EPA will prosecute companies that fail to expend the resources needed to have a compliant, well-functioning Risk Management Plan to the fullest extent of the law,” Larry Starfield, the acting assistant administrator for EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance said in a statement.As part of the settlement, Valero has agreed to make chemical safety improvements at the Benicia refinery.Emissions from the refinery have plagued nearby residents in recent years, and in 2019, led city officials to tell residents to stay indoors after the refinery s...
