PITKIN COUNTY — A hiker died after falling down a gully and over a cliff near Heckert Pass in Pitkin County Saturday morning, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.The hiker’s body was recovered by a Colorado National Guard helicopter crew after a Mountain Rescue Aspen (MRA) drone located the hiker’s location between the pass and Peirre Lakes Basin, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.A friend of the hiker sent messages to the Pitkin County Regional Emergency Dispatch Center via the hiker’s Garmin inReach SOS device. Police in Long Beach investigating an altercation between a man and a woman that escalated and led them to call in members of the SWAT team. (KRON) -- A gas leak prompted resident evacuations in Glen Park on Sunday, according to the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management. Community members are asked to avoid the Sussex Street area between Diamond and Castro streets as fire crews are on the scene. Drivers in the area are asked to take alternate routes where possible, as travel times will be delayed in the area. The San Francisco Fire Department announced that those in the 0-100 block of Sussex were evacuated as emergency responders went door-to-door.
