Metallica Double Up at SoFi: Alright, it’s not quite the six sold out nights that Taylor Swift managed. But still, two nights at the gargantuan SoFi Stadium for veteran thrashers Metallica is mighty impressive. They’re promising two different sets, so anyone who can afford both should go for it. There are two sets of opening acts too, with the reformed Pantera and Van Halen offspring Mammoth on the Friday, and Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills on the Sunday. Lots to love.Metallica’s new album, 72 Seasons, was released back in April. Speaking on the concept of the album title, frontman James Hetfield said: “72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Beyonce has a little extra wiggle room when it comes to the curfew for her Aug. 30 concert at Levi’s Stadium at Santa Clara. That’s because the show — which is set for a Wednesday night — won’t have to adhere to the regular 10 p.m. weeknight curfew at the venue. Instead, Beyonce can now plan on grooving right up until 11 p.m. at the house of the San Francisco 49erss.The extra hour comes courtesy of a weeknight curfew extension granted by Santa Clara city officials, according to a 49ers spokesperson. It’s one of five such curfew extensions for non-football events that the City Council granted the 49ers, which runs the venue, in a 4-3 vote in 2021.City officials have yet to respond to our request for comment on the curfew extension for the Beyonce show. This extension could be important, given that Beyonce and curfews haven’t traditionally gotten along all that well at Levi’s.The megastar, who visits the Bay Area with her blockbuster Renai...Latest news
