The 29-year-old became enemy No. 1 to Yankees fans after an abysmal tenure in the Bronx. Days before the 2021 trade deadline, the Yankees acquired Gallo and lefty reliever Joely Rodriguez from the Texas Rangers in exchange for four minor leaguers. Defense carries Foxboro past Walpole in Div. 2 girls state semifinal BRIDGEWATER – Offense is what brought Foxboro to the Div. 2 state semifinals, but it was their defense that brought them one win away from a state title at Bridgewater-Raynham Monday night. After a back-and-forth first three quarters, the fifth-seeded Warriors stepped up on defense as well as offensively over the final quarter and a half to defeat top-seeded Walpole 51-37 in the Div. 2 state semifinals.“As disappointing as it is not to play this game at the TD Garden, the excitement that this gym had and the effort that we gave, I’m not even disappointed that we didn’t get to play at the Garden to tell you the truth,” said Foxboro coach Lisa Downs about her team’s effort.Next up, Foxboro will face off against No. 6 Dracut in the Div. 2 state final at Tsongas Center this weekend. Joe Mazzulla admits concern after Celtics’ ugly loss to lowly Rockets The Celtics knew this six-game road trip – with several beatable opponents – was important as they try to build good habits and fix some of their glaring issues as the playoffs loom. But if Saturday’s win over the Hawks was an encouraging sign, Monday was a major step in the opposite direction. The Celtics have suffered some puzzling losses to inferior opponents this season and Monday’s defeat is easily among the worst of the season, especially at this stage of the year. The C’s didn’t start the night with the right energy and their bad habits and deficiencies were on display in ugly fashion in a costly, inexcusable 111-109 loss to the Houston Rockets, who are dead last in the Western Conference with 52 losses and already officially eliminated from the playoff picture, and who the Celtics pummeled by 24 back in December.Forget the No. 1 seed. At this rate, the Celtics will be fighting over their final 13 games just to maintain the No. 2 seed, which they lead by just one game over the ...
